Eades - Senior Pastor Hi, I’m Matthew Eades, Pastor at Green Memorial Baptist
Church. I am primarily responsible for the overall leadership of the church and for the teaching on Sunday Morning and Wednesday
Night. BASIC STUFF: My wife Katie and I moved here in October, 2007.
We were married in 2003, four years after serving together as summer missionaries in Australia. We are proud parents
to our sons, Cooper and Connor. I grew up in Catawba County, about 45 minutes north of Charlotte. BIRTHDAY:
May 10, 1978. EDUCATION: B.S. in Applied Communications with a Minor in Religion from Appalachian
State University. Masters of Divinity with Christian Education focus from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Interests
and Favorites - Places: Oak Island, N.C., Hebron Rock Colony outside
Boone, N.C. One day I want to see the Brown Mountain Lights. I want to go back to Australia some day.
- What's
on your iPod: If I had one, I’d keep some Blue Grass, Contemporary Worship and something funny.
- Books:
Anything on or by the Marx Brothers. I also like reading leadership books and “Mother Earth News” magazine..
- Sport Teams: I'll go with UNC, but honestly I do good to
know what sport plays in what season!
- Movies: Comedies and Sci-fi.
- Hobbies:
RAQUETBALL!
- Dislikes: People who drive down the pull-off lane in heavy traffic. When
people use the word, “literally” in a phrase that obviously isn’t literal. Like, “I literally
flew through the ceiling.”
- Odd Facts: I had five
extra teeth lodged in the roof of my mouth. They have been removed.
